A cosmology of Couture
For the Autumn Winter 2023/24 collection, Sabina Bilenko looks to the skies. The heavenly bodies, their movements and mysteries all offer inspiration.
The palette is pulled from a swirling nebula where shades of silver, crimson, gold and deepest black form an intergalactic backdrop. Embroideries are like stardust – tonal sequins, plastic paillettes and clusters of crystals glimmer on otherworldly silhouettes. While satins and velvets in a handful of weights and lustres add a sense of the ethereal.
In the grand tradition of couture, the collection closes with a wedding dress. Off-shoulder and handled in cloud-like silk gazar, it’s hand-painted with constellations for a truly interstellar finishing touch.
